Neville Bonner-Neville Bonner was the first Aboriginal person to sit in Federal Parliament as a Senator for Queensland from 1971 to 1983.
David Unaipon-Was a widely known indigenous Australian of the Ngarrindjeri people, a preacher, inventor and writer. Unaipon's contribution to Australian society helped to break many indigenous Australian stereotypes. Unaipon is featured on the Australian $50 note in commemoration.
Charles Perkins- Was an Aboriginal Australian activist,football (soccer) player and administrator. He was known as Kumantjayi Perkins in the period immediately following his death.

Torres Strait Islanders-Torres Strait Islanders are the indigenous people of the Torres Strait Island, part of Queensland,Australia. They are culturally and genetically linked to Melanesian peoples and those of Papua New Guinea.They are regarded as being distinct from other Aboriginal peoples of the rest of Australia, and are generally referred to separately.
Aboriginal/Indigenous-Aboriginal Australians, also referred to as Aboriginal people, are people whose ancestors were indigenous to the Australian Continent.
The Apology-The apology to the Stolen Generations by the Australian Parliament on 13 February 2008 was a powerful and memorable moment in the nation’s history. Saying sorry cleared the air, inspiring Australians to believe we really can build the kind of respectful relationships needed for positive, long term outcomes.
Dreaming-The Dreaming is a term used by Aborigines to describe the relations and balance between the spiritual, natural and moral elements of the world. It is an English word but its meaning goes beyond any suggestion of a spiritual or dream-related state. Rather, the Dreaming relates to a period from the origin of the universe to a time before living memory or experience - a time of creator ancestors and supernatural beings.
